Frequent whip action wreaked havoc on traders nerves as they struggled during the afternoon session, to cash in on some chips. The morning session faired rather well, however. Today was a strong trading day, making it the biggest one-day gain since March. With earnings strong and a positive forecast for the economy from Intel Corp, investors dove into the markets pushing major stock indicators up by nearly 3%. Dow Jones industrial average had it's biggest one-day gain since March rising 257 points, Nasdaq rose 63 points and the Standards and Poor's 500 index rose 26 points.

Traders seemed to back off today after all of the action earlier this week, traders had a tough morning with the news CIT Group may have to file for bankruptcy protection, stocks of the company dropped more than 70%. With stocks flat lining in the AM , it turned around in the afternoon and traders were able to get some reasonable trading in, Core CPI data will be released tomorrow.
